Sylvie Waffelaert

As a Registered Nurse, Sylvie's years of experience includes,  Critical Care Nursing, Charge Nurse, assisting in the opening of a specialized unit at level IV trauma hospital, and case management/care coordination. Her most recent experience is co-creator of the Integrated Care Management program for the New Mexico Medical Insurance Pool.

Sylvie’s experience includes:

• As a Registered Nurse, Sylvie was nominated for Health Care Hero by her peers. Health Care Herp is an internal recognition award based on patient reviews of their nursing care. She received this award twice.  

• Sylvie has an Associates Degree in Business, a Green Belt Certification in leadership through the Lean Six Sigma Program, and served as a preceptor to mentor and provide peer support to newly graduated nurses. She was twice awarded by hospital leadership as "Health Care Hero" for best patient care based on patients' reviews. 

• Multicultural and Multilingual, Sylvie is French by birth and first language is French, however, she has spent the majority of her life in New Mexico where she has learned Spanish and loves and appreciates the relaxed way of life, the art, the food, and especially the chile. 

Sylvie’s superpower is being a confidant. People are drawn to her, want to talk to her, and want to share experiences.

Sylvie enjoys all do-it-yourself projects from crafting to home repairs. She likes making her own beauty products, experimenting in the kitchen, and travels worldwide looking for great hiking.
